I would highly recommend anyone wishing to have a VBAC to do one of the evening VBAC workshops. I did one last April when hoping for my VBA2C with Lisa Dowling, Lisa is lovely and very down to earth and because she herself has experienced a Caesarean and a VBAC, she understands exactly what it feels like and the hopes and worries that us VBAC mothers have. The workshop was very informative and arms couples with factual info which is very useful for when dealing with hospital doctors and their polices!

The workshop is great for Dads especially, as it provides them with lots of info and gives them he confidence to speak up for you when your in labour. Even though my partner supported me from Day 1 in my decision in going for a VBAC after 2 sections, he came away from that evening more confident that we had made the right decision in going for the VBAC and was delighted with the extra tips that he got on how to support me on the day.

For me personally, the best thing about the workshop was the continued phone and email support that you get afterwards and I found Lisa to be a great support to me and I felt I could text her anytime especially near the end as I was doubting myself alot as to whether I could do it or not. I had a very long early labour stage and the constant phone support I got from Lisa helped me to stay positive as I was finding it very frustrating. In the end I had a successful VBA2C, giving birth at term+15 to a baby girl weighing 9lbs15oz! My partner and I were delighted with the experience and are so glad that we did the VBAC workshop and I will always be grateful to Lisa Dowling for all her support.

I Just wanted to say a huge big Thank you to Lisa Dowling for such a brilliant workshop this weekend. I literally Can't even begin to explain how much of a benefit it was to me and my husband. I have went from being so emotional I couldn't even talk about my last birth experience without crying to walking out of the hotel today with confidence and calmness I never new I could feel. I had a wee (happy) cry on the way home because I just feel like a huge weight has been lifted and I know I am in control no matter what happens. As for the Husband, he spent 20 mins on the phone this evening enthusiastically explaining to his friend the benefits of delayed cord clamping. Anyone thinking of doing a workshop I can't recommend it enough. I am so excited for my Positive Gentlebirth. Thanks to you Lisa x

The vbac workshop was so well worth it! I did mine 2 weeks before giving birth (its never too late!) and it was exactly what i needed for a confident boost to believe in myself and my body & baby. My first baby was 10lb 8oz so also the "fear" of thinking what if baby is too big or pressure from medical staff saying if baby is big it will mean another c-section. The course helped me understand that my body & baby knew what they were doing.

Another thing thrown at women hoping for a vbac is all the "risks", the course shows you all the facts so you are totally informed in all decisions. My partner knew how important a vbac was to me but would haved caved under any pressure. The course opened his eyes and gave him better understanding which made him an even bigger support. And of course lastly but not least the information & support from lisa was amazing and knowing she was there got me to the end line. I got my vbac all 9lb 12oz of her!

I just wanted to take a minute to say a huge thank you to Lisa Dowling. Doing the gentlebirth course with her really brought everything together for me & my partner finally understands what its all about & is so enthusiastic!! After a very traumatic first delivery, I knew from then on that no matter what path my birth took this time it would be a positive experience.

Gentlebirth made this experience for me as I released my previous experience & learned to trust my body again. I went in to it feeling informed & empowered & believing with every fibre of my being this time would be different. Yes I had a vaccum delivery in the end but I was always calm, confident & felt in control. I was part of every decision that was made & I accepted the path my birth had to take to give me my beautiful little boy. I felt my body push him out & have never felt so empowered as a women. Thank you Lisa & GentleBirth if I go on to have ten more babies I'm blaming you.

I heard about Doulas from friends who had started their families before us.  I really thought it was some kind of hippie thing, a trend in the "Mammy world" so to speak. I didn't get a chance to labour with my first baby so by the time the second came around I was quite nervous about labour and birth.

I met Lisa at a birthing class. She was there with her then 12 week old daughter and I was 26weeks pregnant with my second baby.  My husband was amazing! I just knew that he would appreciate a little extra support on the big day too. We spoke to Lisa and she came over one evening to our home and talked through all our worries, concerns and doubts. We all just gelled really well from the start and decided that night we'd love to have Lisa at the birth.

We chatted back and forth throughout the pregnancy and my labour had a few warm-ups before the real deal kicked off. Lisa was always at the end of the phone, kind, caring, reassuring and just a real calming presence in my moments of panic.

I ended up with quite a long, back to back labour with baby born Sunny side up. Lisa was there through every sensation, every "I can't do this" whispering so gently "I know you can!". She was the encouragement I needed when I thought I couldn't go on. My husband really appreciated Lisa's company on the day too. Her emotional support was priceless but he appreciated her physical support! Having an OP baby I needed a lot of counter pressure on my back and they could alternate when their hands got sore! Towards the end when baby was spiraling down my right hip really pained me. It was amazing to have someone on each side telling me how great I was doing and how close baby was. When you're in it, you just don't realise how much you're going to appreciate these things until you're looking back.

Sharing our birth with Lisa, having her love, kindness and support every step of the way really came to its own when our little miracle screamed while plopped onto my belly and the tears streamed down my face, when I looked at my husband he was wiping his eyes too and then Lisa's eyes met mine. It was incredible. That moment in time we spoke a thousand words with just a look. Something so precious was created in that moment. I felt safe, cared for, connected and empowered by this woman who had just helped me birth my baby!

She is Gold! From the bottom of my heart, I'd recommend her to anyone
