A Christmas Mindful Moment

To all the parents out there with 1 child or 10 The holidays are fast approaching - where will you be then? The last minute shopping, both presents and food, The list keeps on growing of how much you've to do.

From Turkey to Ham and Christmas cake to be made, Sometimes the joy of the holidays begins to fade. Once you've the presents it doesn't stop there, The wrapping paper, stocking fillers and ribbon everywhere!

Christmas Eve arrives and they are safely tucked in bed, Your night is just beginning and it's planned out in your head. Toys to wrap and assemble and where they will be placed, Hours of preparation is what you now face.

Once it's all ready it will be late in the night, Off to bed you go and turn off the light. In the early hours of morning with very little sleep, You'll be awoken with the glee and the movement of feet.

With their perfect gifts they happily play,

Now you have to step quickly away.

The perfect Christmas dinner won't make itself,

If only you had a helpful little Elf!

What's important to remember in the midst of the crazy, Is that it's perfectly ok for you to feel lazy. If the turkey is dry or the potatoes overcooked, It really won't matter what way it looked.

Have a moment for yourself to take it all in, Because even with imperfections it will still be a win. Take in the smells and look at their smiles, Enjoy that mindful moment it will carry you the extra mile.

The perfect Christmas does not come from food or presents, But from each of you who are mindfully present. You don't need to stress, though it's easy to do, To your child you are perfect, You should try to see that too!
